Let’s talk about COVID and physical activity!
When an individual has the virus their body can respond in different ways.
The fact that each person has different after effects, the after care also needs to be individualised.
When returning to play or activity with a Biokineticist we will make sure to do a range of tests to check your cardiovascular, muscular and physical capacity before starting.
But what can you do at home to ensure you are progressing to getting better ?
- do basic breathing exercises including deep breaths and blowing into a straw.
- make sure to walk around at your own pace.
- do your basic everyday movements and build up as your body tolerates.
- start to include light stretching and exercises as you are able to.
After any kind of illness you should listen to your body and progress slowly.
Covid 19 can cause lasting damage to the body and the most important thing is how we manage and take care of the body after recovering!
