FITNESS
the term fitness is often thrown around and used in the incorrect way, it actually consists of many components
CARDIORESPIRATORY
Cardiorespiratory fitness refers to the ability of your body to supply the working muscles with sufficient oxygen to perform tasks. For example, if you notice yourself getting out of breath from walking up the stairs or walking to the car it could indicate a poor cardioresp. fitness level. This type of fitness is generally trained by performing aerobic activities such as cycling, running and walking. There are various forms of training ranging from interval training to long slow distance training. These type of exercises are also beneficial to increase bone density.
MUSCULAR FITNESS
Muscular fitness refers to the ability of the muscle to perform work. Muscular endurance is the ability to perform many repetitions without fatiguing. Muscular strength on the other hand is being able to lift a heavier weight with correct form for 8-10 reps. Both of these components are important for general health and well-being as well as preventing/ decreasing the effects of age related muscle loss.
FLEXIBILITY
Flexibility refers to the ability of a joint to move through a range of motion that is considered 'normal', although it can be affected by muscle size and length as well as the actual anatomy of the individual's joint structure. Flexibility is important to prevent injuries, maintain a good range of motion as well as to avoid muscle imbalances from overcompensation. Flexibility decreases with age and therefore should be incorporated into training.
AGING
The concept of aging gracefully and the 'need' to stay young has been around for decades. In today's society many of us are aging at an accelerated rate due to the environmental influences of food choices, sedentary lifestyle due to the lack of need for physical activity as technology progresses and the general lack of knowledge as many people believe this to be'normal'. But in actual fact exercise has amazing benefits on the body ranging from cardiorespiratory, muscular and metabolic systems to maintain these functions at an optimal level and prevent premature aging. I believe that exercising in the correct way for your body and goals can have the greatest impact on your health and help you to achieve a healthy happy lifestyle. Remember Exercise Is Medicine, think about the natural way you can achieve specific outcomes before turning to just any 'age' defying product.

MINDFUL FOOD CHOICES
There is no question, especially in today's world, that with all of the diet related diseases and ailments food choices are invaluable. Research has shown that integrating a more plant based approach into your daily meals can have a substantial impact on your health. Many people go completely vegan or plant based for health or animal-related reasons, but as little as focusing on incorporating predominantly plant based meals or snacks will set you on a path to cell autophagy (recycling and regeneration) and disease prevention or aid in treatment. These choices can also improve your immune system, skin health and energy levels. The main take-away message is to be mindful and consider your food choices before diving into the next milkshake or pizza. (although treat meals and indulgences also play an important role in health and food enjoyment)
